You may remember Shea Foster for some of the stories she shares during announcements on Sunday mornings. Like her joyful retelling of the morning she and her husband surprised their children and took them to Disney World. Or her humorous recounting of trying to get her three children plus three visiting friends to church one Sunday morning.
It’s just one of the many ways Shea puts people at ease and makes them feel welcome at Blue Ridge. She says she’s honored to be the director of Guest Services, Events, and Baptisms because, “I get the chance to know so many people’s stories of life change!”
Shea has attended Blue Ridge since 1999. She was on staff here—from 2002 to 2007—before going to work for a local missions organization for a couple of years. Shea says she enjoys Blue Ridge for its community, family and authenticity.
Traveling and working with other cultures and people groups has been a joy for Shea. She treasures every missions trip she’s been on and the time she has spent with orphaned children all over the world. But her most cherished time is spent making memories with her husband, Todd [BRCC’s worship leader], and three wonderful children: “Madison, my beautiful joy; Lily, my adorable laughter; and Parker, my indescribable wonder. We are proof that God takes what is broken and makes it whole again!”
A few other facts about Shea:
• Upbringing: raised in Burlington, NC with two older sisters and a younger brother
• Most memorable life moment: marrying her prince charming (“I still can’t believe he chose me!”)
• Favorite food: chips and salsa (“I pride myself on how much I love salsa—being a white Irish girl.”)
Shea’s favorite Scripture verse is Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
She loves seeing this worked out in people’s lives. Baptism is an outward display of the inward working of Christ Jesus. If you’re considering baptism, Shea would love to walk with you through that journey.
