WHY GIVE?

Giving financially to Blue Ridge Community Church gives Christ-followers an opportunity to respond back to God because of what He has given to us. It’s not about paying our dues or giving back to Blue Ridge. We give because God gave first (John 3:16). We give because all that we have is provided to us by Him (1 Chronicles 29:11-12). And we also give because it allows us to proclaim to those around us the sufficiency of God’s provision.

We are all aware of the daily pressure to get more, consume more, and possess more. Jesus made it very clear to His followers that it is easy to find yourself in the position of money being your master and the thing that you ultimately place your trust in. When we faithfully give back to God, we break the grip money can have on us and, instead, cultivate a spirit of gratefulness and generosity.

Those are just a few of the benefits we receive as we give back to the Lord from what is really His and from what He has blessed us with. Giving is also another form of worship in which we both honor God and draw near to Him.

How are the funds used?

Our 2010 budget is $1,901,716. The elders reserve the right under the direction of the Holy Spirit to direct funds where they are most needed. It is our policy not to spend more than God provides.

Accountability

We have an open-book policy when it comes to money matters. All personal giving records are kept private, but you are welcome to see how we spend the money we’re entrusted with. Feel free to contact Dave Kountz, Executive Pastor, or Bill Mayberry, Treasurer.

SIGN UP FOR ONLINE GIVING

We offer the convenience of online giving by credit card or electronic check. (Because credit cards can cause some people to struggle financially, we urge you to use that option with discretion and wisdom.)

In order to obtain access to online giving, we ask you to first fill out a short form to provide current and accurate information for our database.

When we have notified you that our database has been updated, you will be able to create a login. As soon as you receive your password, you will be able to process online giving transactions at your convenience, either on a one-time or a recurring basis.

Just so you know, we do pay fees for the online giving process that equate to approximately 2-4% of your tithes and offerings. Those fees do not affect you, but they are deducted from the amount available to be applied to operating expenses or our building fund, whichever you have designated.
