Jeremy is a fun-loving, outgoing kind of guy with a great sense of humor. Case in point: his wedding. He and Janna got married on April 26, 2003. Janna is a little bit taller than Jeremy, so when the minister said he could kiss the bride, Jeremy told Janna to hold on a minute – he went behind the stage and brought out a stool to stand on for their first kiss as man and wife. It's hard to cry at a wedding when there's that much fun going on!
Raised in Durango, Colorado, Jeremy did not have an ideal childhood. But, that didn't stop him from developing a great relationship with God and a heart for young adults. He also developed a love for the Colorado sky and a Denver Bronco victory. And he's still trying to find a Mexican restaurant in Virginia that makes the kind of Mexican food he grew up on. If you know of one, please let him know.
As an Associate Pastor, Jeremy is part of the teaching team and often presents the message on Sunday mornings. He also heads up Blue Ridge Student Ministries, consisting of the high school and middle school age groups. These duties make great use of his spiritual gifts of leadership and teaching, and he loves the result of seeing lives change. Since his self-avowed weakness is organization, though, he's glad to have other people around to take care of that side of things.
Most people don't know that Jeremy flunked 2nd grade. However, he did have the thrill of getting to meet John Elway, Quarterback of the Denver Broncos. And he loves golf, Frisbee golf, and any other sport, but don't talk to him during a football game! Some other favorites are: the book, Unstoppable Force, Philippians 3:7-11, and Peter – because “like me, he often sticks his foot in his mouth.”
