 Angela Carroll

When there's anything going on at Blue Ridge that involves the middle school and high school students, Angela has probably had a hand in it – either in the planning or the organizing, or both. It makes great use of her spiritual gifts as a servant, a leader, and an administrator. Plus, she loves the kids and loves being in their lives at such a crucial time for them to be making decisions about life.

Angela was born on February 26, 1980, in Rockledge, Florida. She moved to Alaska at the age of 2, but was back in Florida in time to start kindergarten. By the time she started high school, she was living in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from JMU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Assessment and Promotion, and then spent 6 months in Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission in New Zealand and Fiji before moving to Lynchburg.

Angela's husband, Matt, is the Middle School Director at Blue Ridge, so between work, home, and coaching volleyball, they get to spend a lot of time together. Because of their height and size, you have to look twice to pick them out among the students. It's a lot easier now, though, because they're the ones with a baby! Micah David Carroll was born on December 12, 2008.

The most satisfying things in life for Angela (besides being with Matt and Micah) are being outside, hanging out with awesome friends, and traveling. She also loves playing any sport, reading all kinds of books, and any kind of fruit except grapefruit. Beware, though, her pet peeves are fingernails across a chalkboard, teeth scraping on a fork, and people who don't follow through on their word.

Angela's mom and step-dad, Bill and Marilee Earle, are fellow Blue Ridgers, and she has a brother, Chad, who also lives in Lynchburg. Her dad and step-family live in Florida.

Angela says the people she would most love to meet are Mother Teresa and Jesus. If you know Angela very well, you would probably agree that she would have a lot in common with both of them because she has “the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit” spoken of in 1 Peter 3:4.
